Everything we take on

Every job below is one we do ourselves across Henderson.

Deck Installation

We dig and pour the footings, frame the substructure, and install the decking and rail, whether that's a low platform deck or a raised deck with stairs. Beam and joist sizing is based on the span and the load, not a guess, so the deck doesn't bounce when three people are standing on the same board.

Custom Deck Design

We'll draw the layout around how your yard actually slopes and where the sun hits in July, not just a rectangle off the back door. That includes working out stair placement, rail style, and whether a multi-level deck makes more sense than one flat plane.

Deck Repair

Soft boards, a rail that flexes, or a corner that's started to sag usually point to a problem in the framing underneath, not just the visible board. We open up the deck, find the failed joist or rotten ledger, and fix the structure before we touch anything cosmetic.

Deck Staining & Sealing

Wood decking left bare in this climate checks and grays out in a season or two. We pressure wash, let the boards dry fully, then apply a stain and sealer rated for high UV, which matters more here than the brand name on the can.

Composite Deck Installation

We install composite decking from Trex, TimberTech, and similar lines, using hidden fastener systems so there's no visible screw head to catch bare feet. Composite doesn't need restaining, but it still needs proper joist spacing underneath or it'll feel spongy underfoot.

Deck Railing Installation

Rail height and baluster spacing are set by code, not preference, and we build to that spec so the deck passes inspection the first time. Options range from wood pickets to cable rail to glass panel, depending on what you want to see through.

Deck Resurfacing

If the framing underneath is still sound, we can pull off tired old decking and replace it with new wood or composite boards without rebuilding the whole structure. This is usually a faster, cheaper fix than tearing out a deck that's structurally fine.

Deck Framing & Joist Repair

Rotten joists, a sistered beam that was never done right, or a ledger board pulling away from the house, this is the structural work most homeowners never see until something gives. We replace what's failed and add joist tape and proper flashing so it doesn't happen again.

Deck Removal & Replacement

Some decks are past the point of patching, especially old ones built without joist hangers or proper footings. We tear it out, haul it off, and start over with a structure built to current code.

Deck Pergolas & Shade Structures

A lot of Henderson decks get built and then sit unused from June through September because there's no shade. We add a pergola or shade structure sized to the deck, sometimes with a louvered roof that cuts the surface temperature enough to actually use the space midday.

How It Works

Four steps, and no surprises in any of them.

01

We come and look

You tell us what you want doing, we look at what is actually there, and we ask the awkward questions early.

02

You get a price

In writing, itemised, free. If something might add cost later we flag it now rather than at the end.

03

We do the work

Same crew throughout. We cover your floors, keep the dust down and tidy up before we leave each day.

04

We walk it with you

You point out anything you are not happy with and we fix it before the invoice, not after.

Common Questions

Things worth asking

Questions that come up once a deck project is underway.

Do I need a permit to build a deck in Henderson?
Most raised decks in Henderson need a building permit and at least one inspection, especially anything over 30 inches off the ground. Paradise Deck pulls the permit and schedules the inspection as part of the job.
How long does it take to build a deck?
A straightforward ground-level deck usually takes about a week from footings to final board. A larger raised deck with stairs, multiple levels, or a pergola can run two to three weeks depending on inspection scheduling.
Can you build a deck to fit a specific budget?
Yes, deck size, decking material, and rail style all adjust to hit a target budget, and pressure-treated pine costs significantly less than composite decking. The tradeoffs get laid out clearly before any commitment, so there's no guessing which corners got cut.
Do you guarantee your deck work?
Workmanship is backed for a set period after completion, and materials like composite decking carry their own manufacturer warranty on top of that. Details are spelled out in writing with the quote, not left as a verbal promise.
Who will I be dealing with day to day during construction?
One crew handles the job from footings to final finish, so it's the same faces on site each day rather than a rotating sub crew. Questions during the build go straight to whoever is running the job, not through a call center.
What decking materials do you work with?
Pressure-treated pine, cedar, redwood, and composite lines like Trex and TimberTech are all standard options. Each holds up differently in Nevada sun, and the tradeoffs get discussed before ordering.
Can I still use my yard while the deck is being built?
Most of the yard stays usable during construction, aside from the immediate footprint where footings are being dug or the deck is being framed. Water and power access for the crew is the main thing worth clearing a path for.
How should I prepare the site before the crew arrives?
Clear patio furniture, planters, and anything breakable from the work area, and mark any buried sprinkler lines or low-voltage wiring near where footings will go. The crew handles grading and any existing deck removal as part of the job.
What happens if you find rot or a problem once the job has started?
Rotten framing, an undersized beam, or a ledger board that was never flashed properly sometimes shows up once old decking comes off. Any change to the scope or price gets discussed and approved before the work continues, not billed as a surprise afterward.
How should a new deck be maintained after it's finished?
Wood decking should be resealed roughly every one to three years depending on sun exposure, with more frequent care on a west-facing deck. Composite decking just needs periodic washing, but gaps between boards and fastener heads are worth checking once a year regardless of material.
